
Spring Equinox Medicine Wheel Ceremony
People from varying backgrounds and spiritual traditions are invited to join elders Phil Mechuskosis L’Hirondelle and Gisele L’Hirondelle from ‘All My Relations Teachings’ to celebrate the beginning of the spring season in the beautiful outdoor setting at VanDusen Garden Botanical Garden’s Medicine Wheel. Drumming and prayers are shared at this event.
The Medicine Wheel is a symbol of holistic teachings based on the cycles of nature.
No registration necessary and there is no charge for the ceremony, regular garden admission applies. There is free parking in VanDusen Botanical Garden’s parking lot.

What to bring:
- A portable chair or blanket to sit on as the ceremony lasts 3 hours
- Clothing and gear appropriate for the weather (ie. rain gear, visor, hat, umbrella, sunscreen, water etc.)
- A small stone(s) to infuse prayers into and to leave at the wheel.
- Optional: Food to share with community at the end of the ceremony, and/or a drum if you have one
Enter through the Visitor Centre admission’s desk. Please arrive 15-20 minutes early to give yourself enough time to walk up to the Medicine Wheel area in the Canadian Heritage Garden near the maze. Maps available at the admission’s desk. This event takes place outdoors.
