Vancouver All British Field Meet Classic Car Show

Saturday, May 18 10.00am - 4.30pm

The Vancouver All British Field Meet (ABFM) returns to VanDusen Botanical Garden on May 18 for their annual British car show on the Great Lawn. Presented by Hagerty, expect to see nearly 500 cars in 62 different classes. The event will also feature live entertainment, food trucks, vendor booths, merchandise for sale, high tea options and more. event ticket is required to access the event area.

Wildlife Photography 101

Located in one of the top wildlife hotspots on the continent, the Vancouver region and its surroundings on the British Columbia coast are home to some spectacular species. With such an incredible abundance of wildlife, it is no surprise that the parks in the region are also popular with photo enthusiasts and wildlife lovers, who visit from near and far.

Join wildlife photographer Liron Gertsman for an in-depth wildlife photography workshop, going over tips, tricks and techniques for wildlife photography that can be applied regardless of your camera of choice, smartphones included.

Indigenous Culinary Farming: Mesoamerican Cacao Journey

Join us for an immersive experience as we embark on the Mesoamerican Cacao Journey.

This event offers an interactive discussion on the historical trade routes that brought cacao and other agricultural products to Canada, following the ancient Indigenous trade paths from Central America through Mexico, the United States, and eventually to Canada.

Nina, from Chiraza Foods, will share her family’s farming and trade traditions, focusing on empowering and revitalizing Indigenous trade, especially for women. You’ll also have the opportunity to taste exquisite cacao and Mesoamerican chai tea.

Winter Plant ID: Native Shrubs & Trees

Saturday, February 24 10.00am - 12.00pm

When seasons change and plants lose their leaves, it may seem like a dull and sleepy time of year— but there is much to observe and get excited about the outdoors!

In this session, we will begin with an indoor lecture where you will learn the basics of winter plant identification, including key traits and terms. The second part of the class will be an outdoor walk around the garden, where we will stop and observe the interesting features of various native shrubs and trees.
